Water Types: The Philosophers

Water types are the most yin element as they are intuitive, introspective, and most connected to Source energy. They are quiet, reflective, and wise. Their inner stillness provides strength when in solitude. They can easily channel information and great insights, out of nowhere. They prefer one-on-one conversations, they love to read, and spend time alone. Water elements are thought to be poets, artists, thought leaders and tend to enjoy working on their own as they prefer to remain in the background as opposed to the spotlight.

WATER TYPES CHALLENGES

If water types spend too much time in solitude, they tend to experience lethargy, and lack of motivation and desire. Water can easily become depressed due to lack of energy. They spend so much time in their minds, that they can have a hard time relating to the physical world. It’s important to have activities to connect them to the physical world.

TOO MUCH YIN ENERGY

Too much yin energy shows up as an excess of water. However society is primarily yang, and even a water type can feel overextended. If this happens getting enough sleep and meditation is important to counterbalance the hecticness of life.

TOO MUCH YANG ENERGY

An excess of yang can lead to lethargy, depression and so moving the body daily is the way a water type can stimulate their wood energy to absorb the excess water element. For more on the elements, we suggest reading Decorating with the Five Elements of Feng Shui by Tisha Morris.
