DECORATING WITH THE METAL ELEMENT

The Metal element is associated with efficiency, precision and beauty. The season corresponding to the Metal element is Fall, this is the season where we prepare for the winter and begin to harvest the projects and intentions we planted in the spring. Metal is a Yin energy that is also associated with clearing away and decluttering. The Metal element is also about discernment and clarity, or choosing what to let go of and what to hold on to. It governs our ability to let go and allows us to clearly identify meaning and importance.

Homes that are dominant in Metal element are mostly white, clear of clutter, and extremely organized. It may also include color coded closets or labeled containers. Minimalism is probably their style, and may also have metal objects and stone surfaces. The Earth element is used in tandem with the Metal element because earth strengthens metal.

In the destructive cycle, fire destroys and weakens metal. This means if you have too much of a metal element, you can add small objects that represent the Fire element.
